County Wicklow’s Powerscourt Gardens has a wonderful surprise in store for spring visitors. The Tulip Festival at Powerscourt features over 10,000 tulips within the magnificent gardens, some of which are rarely seen in Ireland. Discover these unusual varieties in the ornate Italian and formal walled gardens and along the herbaceous border, with its beautiful views of the surrounding Wicklow mountains. Why not make a day of it and enjoy the stunning sight and perfume of 100’s of different types of plants, flowers and trees as you stroll through the gardens. The winding pathways feel like a secret garden at times, revealing new treasures at each twist and turn!
Combined with the exceptional food at the Avoca Terrace Café and the adjacent Waterfall, the Powerscourt experience continues to offer something new each year and provide a family friendly day out that is difficult to match elsewhere.
The Tulip festival will run from 10th - 24th April. Opening times are from 9.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Sunday. Enjoy a guided walk with Michael Byrne, Head Gardener of Powerscourt on 1st May at 11.30am included in your entrance fee.
Remember to bring your cameras to capture some extraordinary pictures!
Facilities include:
• Parking: There is ample parking for visitors in our car park at no charge. Coach parking is also available for up to 20 coaches.
• Disabled Access: We provided disabled access and toilet facilities with partial access to the House and Gardens. There are also two wheelchairs at our house reception which visitors to the gardens are welcome to use.
• Baby Changing Facilities: Baby changing facilities are available in Powerscourt House.
• Information Guides: We provide information guides in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Polish to visitors to Powerscourt gardens.
• Food: Avoca Terrace Café is located in Powerscourt House
• Shops: Avoca Stores and Global Village are located in Powerscourt House
• Tara’s Palace, Museum of Childhood is located in Powerscourt House.
