See what Ireland has in store for you
You travel from Dublin deep into the gorgeous, green landscape of County Meath. It’s said that the mythical High Kings of Ireland once lived here. Your first stop is the Four Knocks Megalithic Passage Tomb. Older than the pyramids, this is some of the oldest human history you can encounter. Your next stop is one of Ireland’s finest relics at Monasterboice, the Celtic High Cross of Muiredach. This famous masterpiece depicts biblical tales and combines Celtic art with christian symbolism. You then head inland to visit the elegant Slane Castle and Distillery. Here you can relax for lunch and have the option to join the distillery tour. Hear about the unique three cask process that makes Slane Irish Whiskey such a unique blend in an equally unique setting. After this you’ll visit the 12th century Bective Abbey to take some photos and enjoy the simple architecture of this ancient monument. Your final stop before heading back to Dublin is the Hill of Tara, the legendary centre of Celtic Ireland. It’s a great destination if you love faeries and folklore. There are walls to climb, a large castle keep to explore, and plenty reconstructions and curiosities to discover.
