The collections at Armagh County Museum capture centuries of stories relating to the people who lived, worked and had connections with this famous city and historic county. With collections ranging from local history and fine art to archaeology and natural history, this is the ideal place to experience a flavour of the famous ‘orchard county’. The museum’s art collection illustrates the story of life in Armagh over the centuries. Some of the most intriguing stories of local lives are interwoven amid the diverse displays. From splendid wedding dresses and rural crafts to fine military uniforms, each object conveys its own human story. The museum hosts many temporary exhibitions including those highlighting objects from the collections and material borrowed from further afield. Working with the local community, we provide a venue for a wide variety of exhibitions including the stirring music of the pipes and the best of contemporary works by local artists. Armagh County Museum offers a visitor information service and can provide maps and information about what to see, where to go and where to stay in the locality. Armagh County Museum is accessible – for full details of their accessibility features, see Armagh County Museum | AccessAble
