See what Ireland has in store for you
The Gallery is family owned and exhibits a large selection of traditional and contemporary oil and watercolour paintings. Many of the artists they represent have exhibited here continuously for 20 years and more. Antiques have been part of the Gallery since the beginning, and Alan Harley has expertly selected a range of genuine items. Paintings, ceramics, glass, metal ware and 19th and 20th Century oriental cloisonné are particular specialities. The craft shop sells a wide range of handwoven rugs and throws, jewellery, books, aromatics, kid's wear, wood, woollens and pottery. Artists' materials are also available. This attractive two storey stone house was built in the 1840's as the fever hospital for Dunfanaghy Workhouse. It closed in 1922. From the 1930's to the 1960's it was used as the national school for the Roman Catholic children of the area. In 1968 The Gallery opened under the inspiration of Frank Egginton, the well known landscape artist. Since then, his daughter and son in law have run it. Please telephone to confirm opening times.
