See what Ireland has in store for you
Belfast Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral Church of St. Anne, has stood for over 100 years as a place of Christian worship in the heart of Belfast. The foundation stone of the Cathedral was laid in 1899 and the building itself, Romanesque in style, continued to grow over the years. The 40 metre stainless steel Spire of Hope was added in 2007. The Cathedral contains detailed mosaics by the sisters Gertrude and Margaret Martin, elaborately carved stonework by sculptors Rosamond Praeger, Morris Harding and Esmond Burton, beautiful stained glass windows and more. The Chapel of the Holy Spirit is free to visit for quiet prayer. Please visit our website for further details. Our guided tour takes you on your own personal journey through Belfast's magnificent Cathedral. Find out how the Cathedral's story is intertwined with that of its home city, discover the rich historic artefacts and be introduced to the people who helped shape this sacred place. The InSpire Kids Trail is now available for both schools and families! To pre-book or discuss the trail contents in more depth, contact a member of staff at the Cathedral. Larger groups, including those from schools or colleges, are asked to contact the Cathedral in advance of their visit. Our Visitors Guide and Audio Guide are available in 8 languages, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Polish and Mandarin. These guides are included in the admission fee. Belfast St Annes Cathedral is accessible – for full details of their accessibility features, see Belfast St Annes Cathedral | AccessAble
