The Donegal School of Traditional Irish Music offer weekend and week long Irish music holidays as well as 7 day Irish music tours of Ireland. It is based in Ardara, 28kms from Donegal Town.
The Donegal School of Traditional Irish Music offers a number of holiday options for the Irish Music enthusiast. They run weekend and week long courses in Irish music, from beginners to advanced player levels and also provide online Skype lessons. They operate the 'Donegal Trad Trail', a daily Irish Music tour taking visitors from Donegal Town to various locations in south west Donegal to experience an authentic Irish Music session.
They also run the 'Trad Trail on Tour', a unique 7 day music tour. There are 2 tour choices, The Wild Atlantic Way Tour is a stunning scenic tour of the west coast of Ireland from Galway to Donegal, traveling along 'The Wild Atlantic Way' and a tour of the east and north coasts from Dublin to Belfast which also includes a few nights in Co. Donegal. Musicians accompany the guests on these tours who will be treated to an authentic Irish music session each night as you travel around the country.
Based in Ardara (voted 'Best Village to Live in Ireland', Irish Times 2012) which is a point of interest on the Wild Atlantic Way, the DSTIM is ideally located for tourists to visit some of Ireland's majestic tourist attractions, such as the Sliabh League Cliffs, Glen Folk Village, Narin and Maghera Beaches, golf courses, salmon fishing, boat tours and walking trails. Ardara boasts a lively and vibrant night life, friendly and welcoming people and is known as 'the home of the festival' with festivals happening at least once a month throuout the summer which has something to offer all visitors to Ardara. There is a reliable bus service to all major towns within Co. Donegal and Ardara is also only 40kms from Donegal Airport.
