The Lisnacon Thatched Cottage is an integral part of North Cork's heritage. The homestead is one of a very few remaining thatched cottages with the original turf ceiling.
The homestead was once part of a farmstead and was inhabited up until the late 1990s, having been occupied for over 200 years by successive
generations of the Healy family. With over 200 years of accrued history, the house and farmstead are accompanied by original period furniture and household items.
The property was originally intended as a family home, but on acquisition, the current owners made the ultimate decision to restore the Cottage as a private residence and open it as a landmark piece of local and national heritage.
2017 Opening dates to be confirmed. It is advised to contact the property directly prior to making arrangements to visit.
