The Laney River joins the Sullane River east of Macroom in County Cork. It is a fast-flowing stream that holds reasonably good trout.
The banks are overgrown in places along the Laney River. The best of the fishing is from Morrison's Bridge upstream to Bawnmore Bridge, where the banks are reasonably clean, or from Morrison's Bridge downstream.
The fishing is regarded as free, but Macroom and District Fly Anglers' Association has a conservation interest in the river and should be supported.
Open season runs from 15 February 12 October.
