Northern Ireland's biggest cultural family festival returns for 2018 with some exciting changes.
The Dalriada Festival is well established as Northern Ireland's biggest cultural family festival, taking place at the iconic Glenarm Castle & Village annually in July.
Attracting in excess of 30,000 annually, the main objective of the Dalriada Festival is to recycle and share talent, renew passion and belief in our local area, and regenerate excitement in our land, its people and our shared cultural heritage. The Festival has something for everyone and encompasses a varied programme of action packed events. The main weekend takes place in Glenarm Castle on 14th and 15th July and will see some exciting changes for 2018. This year the evening concerts will be amalgamated into the main day events and feature an eclectic mix of music to suit all ages, and with some top acts including Hermitage Green, Gareth Dunlop, Matt Cardle, The Alabama 3, General Fiasco, Ryan McMullan, Dana Masters, Electric Swing Circus, Ben Glover, Runabay plus much more.
And for the little ones, we've got the Official Catboy and Owlette from PJ Masks making an appearance throughout the weekend as well as the Official Tractor Ted. Plus we've got our festival favourites of fine food and drink, chef demonstrations, pop-up restaurants, dance, comedy house, craft village, other children's entertainment and much much more. Not to mention the return of the Northern Ireland Wife Carrying Championships and the County Antrim Pipe Band Championships as well as the all new All Ireland Fitness Racing Championships for all you crossfit junkies.
Why not stay in our Festival Campsite? It is the best way to enjoy the festival throughout the weekend with all the family. The campsite features dedicated toilets, showers, washing up facilities and food traders.
Glenarm Village will follow from 16th July to 21st July with an action packed programme of additional sporting and community events the following week. This will include It’s A Knockout, soft arrow combat, junior duathlon, sprint triathlon, off road endurocross, 5k & 10k run, Lisa McHugh in concert on 20th July and the festival final on 21st July with live music, rowing, raft race, fireworks and BBQ.
