The Peruvian-American hip-hop artist and activist will visit Dublin this August.
Peruvian-American hip-hop artist and activist Immortal Technique will visit Dublin this August for a very special performance at The Sugar Club, with guests Chino XL and Poison Pen.
Controversial, aggressive, fiercely independent and, above all, creative, the performer has enjoyed success almost entirely on his own terms; after drawing the attention of various labels following the release of his sensational first record, his adherence to his message and subsequent unwillingness to tone down his style for the mainstream saw Immortal Technique go it entirely alone – with incredible results.
His most popular record, Revolutionary Vol. 2, was released in the midst of the Bush administration in America. Politically charged and socially focused, his lyrical attacks on everything from the gentrification of ethnic urban neighbourhoods to the exploitative Patriot Act won him a whole new wave of fans tired of the powerlessness and corruption of the new USA.
Subsequent projects have resonated at a global level, and his insistence that world citizens can and should fight injustice through music has only fuelled his ongoing crusade to stay active and be heard.
If you're in search of a cathartic and inspiring night of top notch hip-hop, be sure to catch Immortal Technique's incendiary live show next month in Dublin.
