See what Ireland has in store for you
What a pleasure it is to see a Grand National winner and to remember having seen them when they were just starting out. It’s no wonder that Roscommon Racecourse is a firm favourite with trainers who know that this course is a great test for their potential winners. Imperial Call, the 1996 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner, ran in his first novice chase at Roscommon, while Enzeli, the 1999 Ascot Gold Cup winner, won a race here the year before his celebrated triumph. With a relaxed, intimate atmosphere, Roscommon Racecourse is very spectator friendly, with great views of the track from the enclosures and the stands. The always friendly staff like to make sure a great time is had by all and there are several restaurants and bars to enjoy. The whole area is transformed during the racing, and great fun can be had in the many cosy local pubs and restaurants long after the winner has crossed the finishing line. There are two large spectator stands, and a wheelchair accessible viewing platform is available. Free WiFi is available in bar areas and adjacent to the main stand.
