A market and livestock fair used to be held on the main street. In the vicinity are historic sites such as: Sess Kilgreen, a fine-chambered tomb similar to those found throughout Western Europe.
A breathtaking view of the area can be seen from nearby Errigal Keerogue. Here are the ruins of St Kieran’s Church with its very early cross. The church is said to date from 1489 and was a Franciscan foundation.
