Angling Sullane River
Tom Sweeney, Mary Ann's Bar, Masseytown, Macroom, Cork,
The Sullane River flows east through Ballyvourney and Macroom into Carrigadrohid Reservoir, County Cork. It is a moorland river and holds a good stock of brown trout averaging 6oz.
The Sullane River is one of the River Lee’s more productive tributaries producing good quality brown trout. It fishes well through the season and the fly fishing is particularly good on summer evenings in July and August.
The fishing is regarded as free; Macroom and District Fly Anglers have a conservation interest in the river.
Open season runs from 15 February until 12 October.
