The South-Western Regional Fishery board has done excellent work in preparing and stocking small trout lakes in County Cork and County Kerry, and these can provide excellent fishing.
The River Middle Lee is the section of the river above the Old Gearagh Forest at the upper end of Carrigadrohid Reservoir in County Cork. It holds small numbers of brown trout and gets a run of large reservoir trout.

The River Lee rises in Gougane Barra, County Cork and flows east into Cork Harbour. The bulk of the salmon fishing takes place in the nine-mile stretch of river downstream of Inishcarra Dam.
