Origin Green

The Ireland pavilion will echo the values of Expo Milan 2015 as we showcase how our pristine countryside produces top-quality sustainable food, and how, thanks to the Origin Green partnership between farmers, businesses and state agencies, Ireland is setting ambitious targets to become a world leader in sustainable food production.

The Wild Atlantic Way

If you want to see sustainability in action and enjoy a green holiday, you need only visit Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way, an example of a fragile environment that draws visitors but is carefully maintained. This rugged coastline that runs from County Donegal in the north to County Cork in the south offers a view of the future with a taste of the past. Here fishing, grazing and agriculture are carried out with respect for the environment,  in order to offer a delicious traditional Irish cuisine, in harmony with nature.

Tourism is run along similar lines, with visitors offered many eco-friendly ways to enjoy the Atlantic coast: on foot, by bike, on horseback or by boat. The country’s natural beauty and cultural heritage have pushed forward the green agenda. In Ireland we regard nature as a partner, not a commodity, and at Expo Milan 2015 we will share with the world how we’re working to preserve that precious relationship.
