Oileán Éadaigh West Mayo Brewery is on Hilltop Farm, a small working farm in the West of Ireland with the first commercial brewery in Mayo for nearly 200 years. Visits are by prior arrangement only please.
Oileán Éadaigh West Mayo Brewery is run by Iain and Caroline Price on a working farm in Islandeady, County Mayo. Conceived in 2008, the microbrewery launched 4th July 2013. It produces three traditional, natural beers using malted barley, hops, yeast and the main ingredient, water from County Mayo.
Bog myrtle from the farm is also used for flavour in the porter as in days of old. The three beers are: Clew Bay Sunset, a red ale 4% ABV; Clifford’s Connacht Champion (3C), a golden ale 4% ABV; Paddy’s Pilgrims Porter (3P), a dark ale 4.2% ABV. A special beer Gráinne Úaile Atlantic Ale also sometimes available and other specials may appear in the future.
The farm has cattle, a few chickens and ducks, bees and occasionally pigs in the woods, as well as a dog of course. The farm house is an old style stone building with a small vegetable plot and plenty of fruit trees, so the farm is never short of eggs, jam or many other provisions!
Oileán Éadaigh West Mayo Brewery is also a member of the Gourmet Greenway in County Mayo.
