Each of the cottages have their own entrance and a patio area with a garden leading to the Grand Canal. The non-paying guests, the local resident duck family, may call for breakfast so have some bread ready.
The cottages are bright, spacious and tastefully decorated with guests' comfort and relaxation in mind. The cottages have two bedrooms, one of which has a king-size bed and the other having two large single beds. Each self-catering cottage sleeps four to five adults plus a baby cot. Bedrooms can be changed to all single beds or two double rooms on request. Additional sleeping is available on the sofa bed in the living room for a fifth person. The kitchens in all of the holiday cottages are fully equipped, and all bed linen and towels are provided free of charge. The living room has comfy armchairs, sofa, TV, and an open peat fire. There is also ample on-site private parking and a playground area. All the cottages are on ground level and suitable for wheelchair users.
The cottages are ideally located for enjoying a sightseeing holiday of the country, or a quiet retreat. There is angling on the Grand and Royal Canals, and on many rivers nearby such as the Rivers Liffey, Slate, and Barrow. Golfers can choose from the K Club, Carton House, Highfield, Millicent, Naas, and Woodlands Golf Clubs. There is horse racing nearby at Punchestown, Naas, or The Curragh. For the more historically-minded, there are numerous heritage houses and heritage sites in Kildare, including St Brigid's Well.
The village of Robertstown is a two-minute stroll from the self-catering cottages. It is renowned for its ‘watering holes’ (pubs) with local singers and traditional music which may be heard in any of the three pubs. You can drop in to round off your day at the heart and soul of the village. There is also a mini-market in Robertstown for your everyday needs, and a traditional Irish grocery shop selling everything from a needle to an anchor.
