Architectural walking tours of South Belfast’s Queen’s Quarter.
RSUA is supporting EHOD 2018 by organising architectural walking tours of South Belfast’s Queen’s Quarter, which is home to prominent buildings designed by architect Charles Lanyon including the main building at Queen’s University Belfast and the Union Theological College.
These walking tours will consider other buildings of note in the area and will focus on the challenges in maintaining our built environment and the need to safeguard it for future generations.
Tours depart RSUA at 15:00, Saturday and Sunday. Tickets from www.rsua.org.uk
RSUA is hosting a talk by veteran Irish News cartoonist Ian Knox in which he will reflect on the themes of his exhibition entitled “Critical Crass” which is open throughout the summer. Ian Knox’s exhibition challenges us to think more deeply about public policy as it affects architecture and our built environment. Though latterly known for his forensic critiques of policy and policymakers, Ian Knox trained as an architect and this exhibition represents a return to his roots. Talk is on Saturday at 11:00. Tickets from www.rsua.org.uk
