No. 1 Doolin Pier, Doolin, Clare,
Mr Bill O Brien
E: sales@doolinferry.com

The original ferry. This route was established by Bill O Brien in 1970. Today with his son Liam and crew of master sea captains take passengers on boat trips of a life time to the Aran Islands and under the Cliffs of Moher.

Inis Oirr, Inis Meain & Inis Mor make up the three Aran Islands. The shortest sea crossing is from the port of Doolin. The islands are connected to Co Clare geographically in that the limestone paving seen in the Burren continues through all three islands.

The Aran Islands are in the County of Galway so don't be confused! You know the famous Aran Sweather (cable knit) comes from here as do many famous 'Gaelic' playwrites, poets and authors. The islands are one of the deep seats of Irish culture and where you will hear our Irish language spoken by the locals. Each island has its distinct identity and unique offerings.

Bill O Brien offers a daily service to each Island and throughout the day you will be able to catch a ferry to another Island if you'd like to 'island hop' and stay overnight.

All options & best prices are covered in our web site. www.doolinferry.com

From the shore in Doolin in 1970 Bill O'Brien created the Doolin Ferry Co. and at the same time one of the most iconic coastal journeys on the Wild Atlantic.

Today Bill, along with his son Liam, and crew from local seafaring families offer first class service, multiple daily departures (March - November) to all three Aran Islands of Inis Oirr, Inis Meain and Inis Mor, also hourly cruises along the iconic Cliffs of Moher.

Always leading the way Bill introduced a new super fast ferry to Irish waters in 2017. The Doolin Express features unique anti-sea sickness technology.
