Join us on a journey to discover Maghera’s Hidden Heritage, a town full of significant sites from ancient times.

Your visit will include a stop at Maghera Walled Garden, a restored Victorian garden on the grounds of a medieval 4th Century royal dwelling, an ancient Monastery and St Lurach’s 10th Century church with one of the oldest sculptures of the crucifixion; following with a refreshing high-tea at Walsh’s hotel, before commencing to the foot Carntogher mountain and Siopa An Carn, a gift shop specialising in traditional and contemporary Irish crafts and gifts.

Speaking about the Garden, Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Kim Ashton, said: “We are extremely fortunate to have such a beautiful and breath-taking facility located in our council area and I am delighted to see the Walled Garden being used to host such fun, family oriented events.
