GCN30 is an event that celebrates the 30th anniversary of GCN magazine, originally founded as Gay Community News in 1988.

GCN30 is an event that celebrates the 30th anniversary of GCN magazine, originally founded as Gay Community News in 1988.

The magazine’s founded, queer community activist and archivist Tonie Walsh, has curated a collection that will tell the story of the LGBT+ community in Ireland over the last 30 years, through 30 pivotal moments.

The exhibition makes use of mixed media and formats rather than exclusively using photography. This will help to chart developments within the Irish gay rights movement via a timeline, an A to Z of Irish Queer life, audio-visual installations and written contributions from those who have made GCN what it is.

The exhibition also forms part of this year’s Pride Celebrations.
