The Walking Food Tour of Clonakilty connects both visiting and local foodies with the stories, history, skills and people behind wonderful local produce to provide a foodie experience like no other in West Cork.
Flavour.ie - Walking Food Tour of Clonakilty runs every Friday rain or shine from June to August. There is such a concentration of great produce in West Cork that it would rival any other gourmet food destination around the world. Clonakilty is at the centre of it all and ensures unfettered access to great local food - whether from some of the wonderful and long established producer shops in the town; with the great local market, supermarkets with a passion for encouraging people to put local food on local plates or even the new kids on the block - some local, some from far and away who have settled in Clonakilty and made this place their home.
This tour combines history, tradition, community, innovation and the future to bring you the stories behind artisan food producers we visit on this tour to create an intricately woven tale combining all five in a single experience.
Clonakilty is a food enthusiasts dream, where heritage has its roots in the beautiful landscape on the Wild Atlantic Way and artisan food production is the order of the day reflecting the diverse and rich environment.
