The nihilist psychedelic folkster is bringing his extraordinary live show to Dublin.
Nihilist. Psychedelic. Folk musician. Robyn Hitchcock is one of the most prolific and creative singer/songwriters to come out of England, and his music and influence endures today.
Co-founder of art rock dynamos The Soft Boys, Hitchcock has, since 1976, been known for lending his surrealist take on life, as well as his substantial musical talents, to every project he's been involved with. A cult figure, he has recorded more than 20 albums in his career, starred in the Jonathan Demme-directed in-concert film Storefront Hitchcock, and built a an empire of sound which is impossible to define yet endlessly fascinating.
His most recent release, The Man Upstairs, produced by the legendary Joe Boyd (Pink Floyd, Nick Drake) attracted critical praise from the usual suspects; Mojo, Uncut and The Quietus all hailed the king of quirk as he offered up yet more genius for the world to enjoy.
Don't miss his solo summer show at Dublin's Workman's Club this June.
