St. Matthew's Church was built between 1869 and 1872 in the shape of a shamrock.

St. Matthew's Church was built between 1869 and 1872 in the shape of a shamrock and has a spire in the shape of an Irish round tower.

The "shamrock" shape gives a unique open shape for preaching and teaching. The Baullaun Stone just outside the main door of the church was found in Shankill Graveyard and moved to its present position in 1911.
