In a relaxed friendly atmosphere Django’s Hostel in North Tipperary caters for groups, families and individual travellers. Django’s Hostel offers 11 rooms altogether and can cater for up to 40 guests. Rooms include a private single, double twin and family rooms as well as shared 6 bed dorms. All rooms are ensuite and supplied with bed linen. Django’s Hostel provide a simple self-service breakfast with tea, coffee, toast and jams supplied. There is a fully equipped self catering kitchen for guest use. On request full meals can be organised for groups. There is also a relaxing common room. Django’s Hostel also offers wheelchair accessible rooms, free parking and they welcome responsible pet owners in their dog friendly room. There is no curfew at Django’s Hostel. Of local interest is the ecovillage itself. You won’t want to miss the ecovillage tours guided by a resident and takes place every Saturday and Sunday. You can also arrange for group tours and presentations by appointment. You will learn about the environmental and ecological philosophy of their eco neighborhood and their community’s creation of a model of sustainable living and its desire to encourage others to follow this example. Cloughjordan also boasts a rich heritage including the Thomas MacDonagh Heritage Museum which is well worth a visit. Thomas MacDonagh came from here and is one of the executed leaders of the 1916 Rebellion and a signatory of the Irish Proclamation. Cloughjordan offers a feast for all your senses, you can see the community organic farm with its working horses, taste the local Tipperary produce and the village baker’s award winning bread, hear their local musicians in the pubs nearby Django’s Hostel. Look out for events in the new village amphitheatre run by Cloughjordan Arts. You will also want to visit the local galleries and craft shops. Close by you will find Bike Park Ireland with its state of the art downhill trails for all ability levels. There are a number of local mapped cycle ways and bikes can be hired locally. Along with local forest and other walks you can follow in the path of history along Ireland’s longest walk, the Beara Brefni Way. For more history Tipperary has a wealth of castles and abbeys, Birr Castle, Nenagh Castle, Ormond Castle, Portumna Castle, Holycross Abbey and are all close by Django’s Hostel. For fishing and sailing scenic Lough Derg on the Shannon is close by. Mid Ireland is unspoiled by mass tourism and is full of hidden treasures for a calm stress free escape from the hassles of everyday life. Come to Django’s Hostel and treat yourself.
