Dzogchen Beara sits high up on cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, with breathtaking views of sea and sky. The vast open spaces, tranquillity, and seclusion provide an ideal environment for quiet reflection and inner transformation. Dzogchen Beara welcomes visitors all year round. Drop in any day to savour home baked treats, to sample an hour of meditation, to ramble the river walk and coastal meadows or to relax in beautiful gardens with spectacular Atlantic views. The friendly cafe offers gourmet coffees and teas, tasty snacks and delicious lunches, cooked with local organic ingredients. Browse selected gifts and relax with a book on the terrace with its wide ocean view. Free guided meditations suitable for beginners are offered daily. Meditation, every day 9 to 9.45am, Loving Kindness, Monday to Friday 3 to 4pm. You won’t have to sit in lotus posture, chairs are provided. Self catering accommodation includes secluded cliff top cottages, ensuite private rooms with ocean view conservatories, breakfast included, and Garranes Farmhouse Hostel. Dzogchen Beara holds a year round programme of public retreats based on the wisdom and compassion of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. Most events are suitable for beginners and include visits by world renowned teachers and authors as well as a variety of meditation retreats led by experienced western pratictioners. Work has begun at Dzogchen Beara to build the first Buddhist temple in Ireland. The temple project is intended to offer a purpose built space for retreats and seminars based on a traditional design.
