Don't miss the Bord Gais Energy Theatre debut of Ireland's most popular opera-themed show all about the incredible life and times of an iconic performer.
Don't miss the Bord Gais Energy Theatre debut of Callas, Ireland's most popular opera-themed show all about the incredible life and times of iconic performer Maria Callas.
Born in New York in the 1920s, the Greek soprano went on to become one of the most influential opera singers of the 20th century, and her life as it was portrayed on the newspaper page was every bit as intriguing as the roles she played on the great stages of the world.
In Callas, the world's very first production about her life, audiences are invited behind closed doors into the star's private life, and her famous love affair with shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis, who would later leave Callas for President JFK’s widow, Jackie Kennedy.
Played by the remarkable Sinead Campbell-Wallace, Maria's story is brought to vivid life alongside Irish baritone Gavan Ring in the role of Onassis and much-loved UK tenor Alexander James Edwards as Meneghini. With music from operas such as Madame Butterfly, La Bohème, Tosca, Carmen, La Traviata, and The Pearl Fishers, it's a spectacle to behold.
See the sensational stage show that opera lovers have all been talking about this September in Dublin.
