Situated in the grounds of Kilkea Castle, which dates back to 1180, Kilkea Castle Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-70, championship golf course. It consists of 200 acres of landscaped parkland, two man-made lakes and the River Griese, which flows majestically through the course and acts as a natural hazard. Kilkea Castle Golf Club has to be experienced to be appreciated.
This ancient church ruin at Castledermot was formerly known as Díseart Diarmada, in the grounds there are two survuving ninth century granite high crosses, a round tower and the remains of the third cross and a Romanesque doorway.
