An Alister MacKenzie championship designed golf course located in the parklands of Cork harbour. The course is built on free-draining limestone with many unusual features that combine to make Cork Golf Club a golfing challenge.
Cork Golf Club is located at Little Island close to Cork city. This championship golf course is routed through golfing terrain incorporating old limestone quarries and the inner reaches of Cork harbour.
Situated in Cork harbour, the Club has hosted many major amateur and professional championships over the years including the Irish Open.
Built on free-draining limestone, the course presents a crisp heath-like playing surface similar to links.
With many unusual features, not least holes six to ten which are set in a disused limestone quarry, the scenery and variety are an added bonus and all combine to make Cork Golf Club a golfing challenge.
Cork Golf Club has been awarded a recommended certificate from other leading courses.
Professional Peter Hickey has been with the club since 1995 operating the pro shop at Cork Golf Club, which is open to visitors and members, his service is widely acknowledged.
The Pro Shop stocks a wide range of golfing equipment that provides personal assistance to ensure that golfers purchase equipment, customised to suit their game.
The Pro Shop is assisted by Paul Kiely, who has an established reputation as a leading golf coach in the South of Ireland. Clubs, golf buggies and trolleys are available for rent.
The clubs facilities include a bar and restaurant run by head chef Gerry Kenneally and his team who provide dining facilities to members and guests throughout the year.
