Dundalk Stadium is Ireland’s only floodlit all weather horse track and the world’s only dual purpose horse and greyhound track.
With the distinction of being Ireland’s first floodlit all weather horse track as well as boasting the most modern entertainment facilities in the north east, Dundalk Stadium in County Louth really does manage to combine all the best elements of a thoroughly enjoyable sporting event with a great venue for socialising.
Covering approximately 159 acres, Dundalk Racecourse has had a tradition of racing for the past 120 years. In the late 1990s, recognising that the facilities were in need of major redevelopment if the racecourse was to remain viable, Dundalk Race Company PLC and Dundealgan Greyhound Racing Company Ltd merged to form Dundalk Racing (1999). Together they were responsible for the new look, state of the art stadium, which boasts five bars, a 40 seat restaurant, self service carvery, fast food options and après race entertainment.
Deep in the thick of it shouting your encouragement or getting out of the elements and enjoying the panoramic views from Champion’s Restaurant, hail, rain, or shine, there’s a place for everyone.
Greyhound racing every Monday, Friday and Saturday. First race 7:45pm.
