The Carlingford Adventure Centre hostel is located in the quaint, medieval village of Carlingford, which is situated on the Cooley Peninsula. It is located about an hour and a half from Dublin City. The hostel, which is open all year round, has both dorms and private rooms with ensuite facilities. Guests can also utilize the self-catering kitchen, game room, volleyball court and conference rooms. The hostel is part of the Carlingford Adventure Centre, a 20-year-old, family-run business that offers a host of activities, such as rock climbing, laser combat, sailing, windsurfing and much more. Additionally, there is an on-site English-language school. The hostel is right in the middle of the village with pubs, restaurants, coffee shops and quaint gift and antique stores right on the doorstep. The village of Carlingford is a Medieval Heritage Town found in County Louth. It boasts many fascinating historical structures, such as King John’s Castle, the Thosel, the Mint Tower House and Grange Church. Its location along Carlingford Lough and near the sea makes it a great destination for water sport enthusiasts as well. The area is also great for hill walkers on the Cooley Mountains and guests can visit the many castles still standing from the 1200's.
