A tour of Medieval Dublin. Starting in the Upper Castle Yard, looking at Bermingham Tower, Record Tower, the Chapel Royal, moving through Ship Gate looking at Stanyhurst Tower and moving along the remnant of the Medieval wall. Tracing the wall along where Pole Gate stood, to the site of St. Nicolas Gate and Fair Green. Now a trip south to St. Patrick's Cathrdral, looking at its origins from 850 to the present day. Back to Cornmarket Street and the site of New Gate. Leaving the path of the wall and crossing to St. Audoens Medieval church, here looking at the 1100ad Viking city wall and the only remaining city gate from 1212. Heading in the direction of Wood Quay and towards Isolde's Tower. Heading back through Parliament Street, to City Hall and to the site of Dame Gate, through Palace Street and ending in Dublinn Gardens. Tours delivered by history graduate, former teacher and former Office of Public Works tour guide. In depth historical social perspective given to visitors. Open April to September, inclusive, Monday to Saturday, inclusive, from 9am until 6pm.
