Less than 2 miles from Newry you will find Derrymore House, a National Trust Property which is a bright yellow, thatched cottage on a picturesque estate with woodlands and farm fields. The property makes a perfect stopping point between Belfast and Dublin, with scenic walks in forest and parkland, a dog exercise area, children’s play area and gardens. Derrymore House is famous because the Act of Union between Great Britain and Ireland was drafted here in the Treaty Room. The house is open for tours on very limited dates only, please phone or check the National Trust website for details.
