See what Ireland has in store for you
Tory Island - within the County Donegal Gaeltacht (Irish speaking area), nestles in the Atlantic ocean, 11km off the north west coast of Ireland. Tory Island is regarded as being the jewel in the crown of Ireland's offshore Islands. Visitors to Tory Island and especially Óstan Radharc Na Céibhe have said the experience is traditionally Tory - an island with a Gaelic culture and Gaelic traditions. The people of Tory Island refer to the mainland as "the country" - Tír in Gaelic. Tory Island derives its name from the high pinnacle cliffs eroded by the battering swell of the Atlantic ocean. With a coastline of 400 miles and many sheltered coves and bays, Donegal is a haven for the water sport enthusiast - Tory Island is not an exception to all of this. Mary Wrynn and her team warmly welcome guests to the family-owned and managed Óstan Radharc Na Céibhe - Tory Island's premier entertainment, accommodation and food venue. Facilities include 12 en suite bedrooms, free WiFi in reception area, in-room tea/coffee making facilities, and flat screen TVs. The Curragh Bar of the hotel captures the very essence of Tory Island lifestyle. What guests witness is not only to be seen to be believed but is every bit as genuine as the personalities of the people of Tory themselves. The social scene is not developed to promote a staged image of Tory Island - it is the Tory Island way, not distilled, but natural and as vibrant and as the Wild Atlantic Way.
