The museum complex comprises of five different buildings that are used for educational and community purposes throughout the year. There is a traditional thatched cottage, which is set up as it would have been in olden days, with all the household items of the time. Behind the cottage, there is the renovated outhouse, which is soon to house the new visitor centre reception area. Then there is the outdoor section of the museum, where you can see all the old farm machinery and implements. Following that, there is the newly renovated Knockdoe Room, where you can learn all about the Battle of Knockdoe, along with viewing lots of antique items and literature. Then the I.T. Centre, which is where the current reception area is located. The GRETB run computer courses there during the Autumn & Spring, which help old and young develop their talents. Finally, there is the recently constructed Parish Centre where courses such as yoga, mindfulness and cookery are held. The staff at Lackagh Museum & Heritage Centre would love you to come and visit and very much look forward to seeing you!
