Fastnet Film Festival is a major showcase for Irish and International short film, focusing on the craft of filmmaking and is held in high regard on a local, national and international level.
This independent festival is dedicated to bringing together both established and first-time filmmakers to a forum in celebration of the short film. Although the element of competition is a part of the Fastnet Film Festival, the main focus is about screening the entrants’ films in the public arena.
Venues all across the village of Schull will stream films - there will even be wifi hotspots available to view the featured works on your smart device. The village hall, pubs, restaurants, shops, galleries, and even the sides of buildings, will light up with films, and throughout the village you can also find seminars, masterclasses and workshops covering lighting, screenwriting, casting, auditioning, score composition, film ethics, filming in conflict, animation, creating content on your mobile, set design, shorts to feature, costume, and more.
Fringe events include the Long Island Cinema, Filmmkers Hub, CornerTalk, live music, drama, movie quizzes, café viewing, silent cinemas, high-quality free family entertainment and plenty more.
Every crevice of the stunning village of Schull will come to life so be part of the magic at the Fastnet Film Festival this May.
