Learn the history of Carrickfergus Castle whilst having your face painted as your favourite animal.

Every Friday during the months of July and August, kids (and big kids) can learn about the history of Carrickfergus Castle whilst having their faces painted as their favourite animal.

Maybe you'll be a ferocious tiger, or an elegant butterfly, maybe you'll not be an animal at all and decide to be a swashbuckling pirate. Whatever you choose, you're guaranteed to have a fun day out with all the family and learn something new along the way as well.

With spectacular views of Belfast Lough, this magnificent Norman castle has been an imposing monument on the Nothern Ireland landscape for more than 800 years, not to mention one of its most famous. It played an important military role right up until 1928 and remains one of the best preserved medieval structures in Ireland. But don't let us tell you all about it, come see for yourself.
