Bello Bar hosts an extraordinary double bill from two experimental musicians working within the folk genre this March.

Bello Bar hosts an extraordinary double bill from two experimental musicians working within the folk genre this March.

Born in London and raised in Galway, Brigid Mae Power has fashioned a distinctive musical voice through her use of alternate tunings on the acoustic guitar, her patient, contemplative songwriting style and her musical partnership with producer Peter Broderick.

Having teamed up with the excellent US label, Tompkins Square, Power has found success underground scenes in the States, across Europe, and in Japan in the years since her self-titled 2016 album.

Her newest record, The Two Worlds, is released in February and looks set to cement her reputation as one of our finest singer-songwriters.

Supporting Power on the night is Jim Ghedi, whose own pastoral sound evokes the Yorkshire countryside he hails from, with hints of John Fahey, Nick Drake, and John Martyn seeping out of his meditative music.
