Irish Baroque Orchestra are delighted to present this virtuosic cantata directed by Peter Whelan and featuring beautiful solo oboe, recorder and cello lines.

Parts of the work may be familiar to you as they were reused by Handel in later works such as Acis and Galatea and Jephta.

Il Deliriio is beautifully contrasted by the lavish Silete Venti, which is one of Handel’s most sublime vocal works. In the capable hands of soprano Devin - now a mainstay in some of the greatest opera houses in Europe - it's a splendid and moving piece that you won't want to miss.
