Castle View is a four star holiday home set on a working beef farm, in the heart of Ireland, near the village of Donaghmore, Co. Laois. It enjoys beautiful views of the Slieve Bloom mountains. Golf, Fishing, Walking, Childrens Playground all nearby

Castle View four-star self catering holiday home is named after the towns land of Castletown, in County Laois, in which it is located. Its name is also linked to the famous one walled castle which is clearly visible from the house. The property has two double rooms, two twin rooms, and two bathrooms. There is a well equipped kitchen com living area which features among other items a TV, DVD player, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher and electric cooker. There is oil fired central heating throughout the house and an open fireplace. WiFi available. There is an outside play room for children if the weather is wet, and ample free parking for guests.

The area is steeped in history with the guesthouse itself almost 300 years old and the old Famine Workhouse Museum in the village of Donaghmore, which is only one kilometre from the property. There are two large supermarkets four kilometres from the house. The village of Donaghmore is also full of history with the old mill and river running slowly along. There are also several good 18 hole golf courses and fishing available locally. There was a film made in the area in 1993 called All things Bright and Beautiful written by Barry Devlin and starring Ciaran Fitzgerald, Gabriel Byrne, Gabrielle Reddy and Tom Wilkinson.

Castle View is only four kilometres from Ballybrophy Station where the main Dublin / Cork line runs. There is also a very good bus service from Shannon Airport to Dublin Airport at Borris-In-Ossory every day. There are a number of waymarked walks throughout Laois each of different grades and for all age groups. This property also provides a stop over for horse drawn caravans in the summer months. Castle View is situated between the two major motorways, the M7 Dublin/Limerick motorway exit 21 and the M8 Dublin/Cork motorway exit three brings you to about seven kilometres of Castle View.
