Based on the beautiful and rugged Beara Peninsula, Pedals & Boots provides bicycle hire with suggested cycle routes which take in quiet country roads, suitable for families. High-vis vests, helmets, baby seats and adult & children’s bikes are provided. Information on local walking routes, which take in many of the area’s wonderful archaeological heritage are also provided. Shower facilities available for those who wish to freshen up after their cycle or walk. The cafe has indoor and outdoor seating and provides light lunches, cakes and a selection of teas and freshly ground coffee. Set in a beautiful, scenic location looking across the water to Derreen Gardens, the cafe is built onto a house which dates back to the 1880’s. The house was originally built by Lansdowne Estate as a school master’s residence for the headmaster of the local school. The house is a perfect example of Lansdowne architecture of that time.
