The Gordon Bennett Irish Classic Car Run is organised to commemorate the 1903 race that took place in counties of Laois, Kildare, and Carlow.

On Saturday, the Heritage Route will see the classic cars travel across the Slieve Blooms to Birr Castle, home of the The Great Telescope, followed by a Gala Dinner in the evening.

On Sunday, The Gordon Bennett Route will take you on a spectacular journey across the Leinster countryside as well as rolling through picturesque towns and villages across all three counties. While Gordon Bennett himself set off at breakneck speed on this 166 kilometre route, you’re invited to take a much more leisurely pace, and enjoy the scenery on offer. This is a run, not a race after all!

The Gordon Bennett Irish Classic Car Run is a treat for motoring enthusiasts and Sunday drivers alike, with all the classic cars available to view at Treacy’s Pub in Portlaoise, each morning of the Bank Holiday weekend.
