From the Brian Jonestown Massacre to the Rebel Drones, Hollywood's influence on cult rock is undeniable.
From the Brian Jonestown Massacre to the Rebel Drones, guitarist and singer Matt Hollywood's influence on cult rock is undeniable.
With his foundations firmly set in the 90s with psych-rock outfit The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Hollywood has spent the last two and a half decades experimenting with sound, genre and expression, moving through the rock scene like a tripped-out nomad and delighting listeners wherever he goes.
His latest effort with The Bad Feelings finds Hollywood drawing on influences as disparate as Leonard Cohen, Lee Hazlewood, Ennio Morricone and Serge Gainsbourg, all while venturing fearlessly into the realms of classic blues and country - a signature Matt Hollywood move if ever there was one.
Hear him perform music from his upcoming WavePOP Records release, as well as some old favourites and never-heard-live rarities, at this intimate gig at the Grand Social.
