See what Ireland has in store for you
Visit Camden Fort Meagher, a former military fort which rests on a 45 acre site in the coastal town of Crosshaven, County Cork. More than half of it is underground in a labyrinth of fascinating tunnels and chambers. Take a trip to this incredible fort and admire the bright tunnel, granite spiral staircase, and magazine and after, wander around the exhibition rooms including the World War I Memorial Room. Enjoy a coffee on the outdoor decking area and soak up stunning views of Cork Harbour, Spike Island and the colourful town of Cobh. Plan your visit around the calendar of lively events which take place each weekend throughout the summer, including live music, military re-enactments, art exhibitions and vintage cars displays. The fort is named after Irish nationalist Thomas Francis Meagher who designed Ireland’s national flag of green, white and orange in 1848.
