See what Ireland has in store for you
Ideally located on the scenic Antrim coast, only 26 miles from Belfast and close to Larne, the Ballygally Castle faces the soft, sandy beaches of Ballygally Bay. The Castle dates back to 1625 and is unique in that it is the only 17th Century building still used as a residence in Northern Ireland today. The hotel is reputedly haunted by a friendly ghost and brave guests can visit the ‘ghost room’ in one of the towers to see for themselves. The 54 bedrooms at the Ballygally Castle are full of character and charm. Beautiful, original beamed ceilings, combined with tasteful contemporary decor, add to the welcoming atmosphere. From the beautiful Antrim Suite, with its spectacular panoramic views to the new Garden wing and the original period rooms, uniquely shaped by the castle’s imposing architecture - the choice is yours. Set within the Castle walls, the contemporary Garden Restaurant overlooks the Castle grounds and offers an excellent lunch menu as well as a choice of Bistro menu or Table d’hôte menu for dinner. Our chefs prepare only the best of local produce to provide a wide range of culinary delights. The Sunday Grand Buffet is served weekly for Sunday lunch in the magnificent River Room, with views over the beach and bay towards Scotland. The Ballygally Castle has a wealth of recreational activities within easy reach and can serve as the perfect base for exploring this stunning area of natural beauty. Carrickfergus Castle, the world-renowned Glens of Antrim and the famous Giant’s Causeway are all close at hand. Those wishing to explore on foot will enjoy the beautiful walks to be found in Carnfunnock Country Park, or simply enjoy a leisurely stroll on the beach opposite the hotel. The hotel have also introduced new electric bicycles, which provide a relaxed and enjoyable way to explore. The hotel offers a Game of Thrones® Afternoon Tea which will delight fans of the world renowned show as well as those who love the indulgence of a delicious afternoon tea.
