The New York rapper and producer is coming to Dublin.
New York rapper and producer Bishop Nehru is a man of many talents. A music video director and editor as well as a keen musical collaborator, he's been in the game since the age of 13, releasing his debut mixtape, Nehruvia, just three short years after making his bright-eyed start.
Instantly recognised for its impressive production – thanks in part to the help of the likes of DJ Premier, Madlib and MF DOOM – the thirteen-track album was swiftly followed by the release of strictlyFLOWz, which was presented by New York radio personality Peter Rosenberg as well as the UK’s DJ Semtex.
As intellectual as he is edgy, Nehru claims influences as diverse as Michael Jackson, Tupac, Herbie Hancock and even the Red Hot Chili Peppers whilst his stage name is inspired by a combination of Tupac's character in the movie Juice and former Indian prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru – a contemporary of Gandhi.
The artist's 2016 single The Alert was streamed more than 10,000 times. This August, he brings his unique style and infectious beats to Dublin's Sugar Club.
