Ardú Vocal Ensemble - Festival Hosts
Ardú is Ireland’s premier a cappella vocal ensemble. This award-wining six-voice group is internationally recognised, having represented Ireland at the Tempere Vocal Festival in Finland, as well as being asked to perform on the Sky 1 a cappella show ‘Sing: Ultimate A Cappella’. 2017 also saw Ardú host the first ever Irish International A Cappella Competition, featuring Grammy Award winners The Swingles. The ensemble has a busy performing schedule with recent performances at Cork International Choral Festival, MusicTown, The Dún Laoghaire Organ Festival, London A Cappella Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in recent times, building their standing as Ireland’s ambassadors of contemporary a cappella.
International award-winning British vocal ensemble Apollo5 delights audiences with versatile and engaging performances on the concert platform, singing repertoire ranging from renaissance, classical and contemporary choral music to folk, jazz and pop. As well as concerts across the UK, Aollo5 has enjoyed giving performances internationally. Last year, the five outstanding vocalists undertook a month-long debut tour of the USA and in 2016 they made their South Asian debut, taking part in the Taipei International Choral Festival.
The Apex Singers
The Apex Singers are an 8-part vocal ensemble who focus on performing fresh arrangements written exclusively for the group. Based in Manchester, the ensemble blends age-old traditions of a cappella vocal music with live mixing, sampling and electronic effects.
The Hiraeth Project will breathe new life into rarely heard folk songs from around the world, arranged by award-winning choral composer Ollie Lambert.
