See what Ireland has in store for you
A £7 million redevelopment of Carnfunnock Country Park commenced on Monday 7 July 2025. The project will last for approximately 15 months but there will still be limited pedestrian access and access to the dog exercise area throughout the redevelopment, to allow for visitors to walk part of the grounds. The paths that remain open will take you through various scenic parts of the park - see map for full access details. Larne parkrun also takes place in Carnfunnock and is a free weekly 5km event for runners of all standards. It happens every Saturday at 9.30am, starting and ending in Drains Bay car park. For full details check out the parkrun website http://www.parkrun.org.uk/larne/. Dog Policy: Park operates dog zones. Dogs must be under control at all times. Use bins provided for waste. Accessible terrain: Off-road paths, some steep parts and hills. Accessible signage: Braille incorporated on interpretation signage. Nearest toilets are located in Drains Bay or further along the coast in Ballygally.
