See what Ireland has in store for you
Dating back to 1198, The Brazen Head is one of Ireland's oldest pubs. Although it is unclear how much of the original 11th century coach house is still intact, there is a palpable sense of history within its walls. James Joyce referenced The Brazen Head in 'Ulysses'. Amongst the literary and historic giants associated with this pub were Brendan Behan, Jonathan Swift and the revolutionaries, Robert Emmet and Wolfe Tone. Take some time to absorb the historic prints and scrolls which are displayed on the walls inside. Enjoy live music and wholesome food in any of the pubs 3 cosy rooms, or during the summertime you can soak up the atmosphere in the enclosed cobblestone courtyard. Traditional and contemporary dishes are served every day, including stews, fresh fish and seafood dishes. The courtyard restaurant is open for a more formal evening dining experience. A private function room can be reserved for parties and larger groups. Traditional and contemporary music sessions are held with no entrance fee. A short walk from Christchurch Cathedral and the Guinness Brewery, The Brazen Head is well worth a visit for both its historic value and its reputation as one of Dublin's best Irish music venues.
