Sharing the Tradition: Irish Munnix Dance Workshops

Would you like to take dancing lessons from a traditional Irish dance master in your own home? Siamsa Tíre, The National Folk Theatre of Ireland, offers a series of online dance workshops at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. They are available on demand. The workshops are taught by Jonathan Kelliher, Artistic Director of Siamsa Tíre, and a traditional Irish Munnix Dance Master. Munnix is a unique style of dancing that originated in North Kerry in the early 1700s and has since been passed down through the generations by dance masters like Jonathan. Jonathan covers the basic steps and shows how they are woven together into a variety of dances, all while telling the story of how Munnix dancing has survived to the present day.
